Gem thief from Panadura to be brought before courts

COLOMBO (News 1st): The suspect who was arrested for nabbing a haul of gems valued at over Rs. 8.2 million from Wellawatta last evening (July 26) is due to be produced before courts today (July 27). He was arrested for stealing the haul of gems and cheques written off to Rs. 130,000 from a person who was travelling in a bus from Bambalapitiya to Wellawatta. The suspect; who was identified as a resident of Waththalapola, Panadura was arrested following investigations.
