COLOMBO (News 1st) – Finals of the 14th West Asia Baseball Championships between Sri Lanka and Pakistan commenced in Diyagama at 2 pm today (July 20).

The tournament is organized by the Sri Lanka Baseball Federation. TV1 and the “Champion Network” are the media sponsors for the tournament.

Sri Lanka won the 1st encounter against neighbouring India and their 2nd game against Nepal and secured 10 points to 2 win against Iran in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the 2nd semi-final saw India facing arch-rivals Pakistan, and the Pakistanis thrashed their rivals 13 points to 2.

This year’s final will symbolize a rematch of 2017 final as the Lankans got the better of Pakistan in 2017.
