Government teachers launch trade union action

Colombo (News1st) -  The Teachers’ and Principals’ Trade Unions have decided to abstain from work today and tomorrow by applying for sick leave. General secretary of the Government Teachers Association of Sri Lanka, Jehan Dissanayake noted that the trade union action is being launched based on an agreement reached between all teacher trade unions on the 30th of March. Teachers representing 5 trade unions will be joining the trade union action. However, the Ceylon teachers union and the Teachers' Services Union have stated that they would not join this trade union action.
