Saman Dissanayake denied anticipatory bail

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Secretary of the National Police Commission, Saman Dissanayake was denied of anticipatory application of bail today(July 17) at the Fort Magistrate by Justice Ranga Dissanayake. Saman Dissanayake had requested the court grant him an anticipatory bail as the Attorney General has instructed the IGP to arrest him for the discovery of illegal firearms in a ship owned by the Avant-Garde Maritime Services. Attorney General ordered the IGP to arrest eight suspects including Saman Dissanayake under the provisions of Firearm Ordinance and produce them before the Galle Magistrate Court. Saman Dissanayake had filed an anticipatory bail request at the Fort Magistrate Court on the 8th of July.
