Tea leaf prices continue to go down

Colombo (News 1st): Tea leaf prices have once again gone down. Estate owners note that the price of a kilogram of green leaf has reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 80 within the last few months. They have called on the Government to intervene in order to stabilize the price of tea leaves again. Lucil Wijeyratne, Chairman of the Sri Lanka tea board speaking to News1st noted that the prices of tea leaves have dropped by nearly 30%.
