COLOMBO (News 1st) – The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has pledged their support to the No Confidence Motion to be presented by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna.

UPFA MP, Rohitha Abeygunawardena noted that they would support the no-confidence motion under the guidance of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. He added that the government is left with achieving the majority in the parliament. He went on to note that currently the government has only 106 votes and even out of those 106, 5 votes including MP Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa will not stand with the government.

Minister further added that the government will be desperate with acquiring majority and they will eventually turn to TNA or Rishaad Bathiudeen for help. Minister added that in order to gain support from former minister Rishaad Bathiudeen he would have to be acquitted from all the charges, which is underway.
