COLOMBO(News 1st): State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene states that the security committee will look into the visit of the two U.S. Senators who carried out an inspection in Myliddy, Jaffna. The Minister made this comment while answering questions posed by journalists in Biyagama.
The State Minister of Defence also denied knowledge of the matter however he said that they were aware of certain people visiting the area. He said that he had given immediate instructions to look into the matter and inform him of it promptly. He continued to say that an explanation on the matter would be given once the security council headed by the President convenes today (July 7).
He also said that they will make sure that this does not happen in the future because no one could enter into the country and take lands of Sri Lanka just like that since there is a procedure.
