COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection made a revelation that 92 octane petrol sold in the market is actually 90.5 octane.
The Chairman of the National Movement for Consumer Rights Protection, Ranjith Vithanage said that this was revealed when they had obtained a sample for inspection. He continued to question who could be held responsible for this since the Consumer Affairs Authority has also not taken due action.
He further said that they have a suspicion that it is the same petrol that is sold everywhere for a higher price since the prices of 95 octane and 92 octane are different. He also said that Euro 4 and Euro 5 also have different prices. The Chairman called for a proper investigation on this matter.
