Colombo (News 1st): WISTA Sri Lanka also known as the Women's International Shipping and Trading Association celebrated 5 years of excellence yesterday (July 02).
Minister of Ports, Shipping and Southern Development, Sagala Ratnayaka presided as the Chief Guest of the event.
Speaking at the event he said:
"Very optimistic that more women will pursue careers in the maritime and logistics sectors in the coming years and take leadership. I can't stress enough on the importance of women in the work force in any industry. It is truly inspiring to see women breaking stereotypes and follow successful careers and enriching industries in more ways than one. Even in Governments, we see a larger involvement of women in the workforce."
