Cabinet considering to re-impose tax on sugary drinks

Colombo (News 1st): The Cabinet is considering to re-impose a tax on sugary drinks. This tax was removed during the tenure of the 52-day government. Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne had requested to re-impose the tax in a cabinet paper and the Finance Ministry has requested for two weeks time to consider the request. A final decision will be reached at a Special Meeting on Friday at the Finance Ministry.
