Puttalam MP's son assaults police officer and is still at large

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A police officer was hospitalized following the assault by the son of Puttalam district MP Shantha Sisira Kumara. Police spokesperson, SP Ruwan Gunasekara noted that a police constable attached to the MP's security division was wounded following the assault. The victim is being treated at the Chilaw Hospital and the attacker has not been arrested although the attack took place around 8.45 pm last night. Media spokesperson added that further investigations into the matter are underway.
