Asgiriya chapter condemns attempts to defame the Asgiriya Mahanayake

COLOMBO (News 1st): Speaking at a media briefing today (June 30), the Deputy Registrar of the Asgiriya Chapter Venerable Dr. Narampanave Ananda Thero said that they have arrived at the understanding that certain individuals of NGOs are attempting to defame the Mahanayake of the Asgiriya chapter by directing false allegations that he insulted the Muslim community. He further said that as the Asgiriya chapter that he vehemently condemns the insults on the Thero because their chapter had worked closely with the Muslim community throughout history. The Thero continued to say that it is because the Muslim community knew of this cooperation that they had not voiced any opposition on the matter since they are aware that the Mahanayake Thero had not made any statements to insult them on purpose.
