1990 Suwaseriya ambulance service introduced in Eastern province

COLOMBO (News 1st): The 1990 Suwaseriya Ambulance service was introduced in the Eastern province today (June 23). Accordingly, this ambulance service is in operation in all 9 provinces of the country. As per a request of the Non-Cabinet Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution Dr Harsha de Silva, the 1990 ambulance service, which is a donation from the Indian government, will be in operation in the Eastern Province. The ceremonial handing over of the ambulances took place at the Ampara Urban Council hall yesterday. During the first round, the Indian government donated 88 ambulances and measures were taken to hand over another 209 ambulances later on. A group including the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the event. The Non-Cabinet Minister Harsha de Silva said that this day marks one of the happiest days in his political career because they are handing over something important to the country today. The Indian High Commissioner of Sri Lanka said that India will forever remain the first render of Sri Lanka even with the launch of the island-wide emergency ambulance service last year. He also claimed that Prime Minister Modi's visit to Sri Lanka after the 04/21 attacks was to signify that India is with Sri Lanka during these difficult times.
