Ex-ministers allowed earlier seats at parliament

COLOMBO (News 1st) - It has been decided to allow the three Muslim ministers who resigned to access their previous seats in the parliament during parliamentary sessions. Parliament's Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando noted that the decision was taken during the Party Leaders' meeting to allow access to the respective seats of former Ministers Rishad Bathiudeen, Kabir Hashim and Rauf Hakeem. The decision was taken as Rishad Bathiudeen and Rauf Hakeem act as party leaders and Kabir Hashim as the chairperson of the UNP. Serjeant-at-Arms added that councilor seats are to be offered to resigned minister, H.A. Haleem, four state ministers and deputy minister as well. Parliament is to be convened today (June 18) at 1 pm.
