COLOMBO (News 1st): The National Organization to Protect the United National Party held a pooja to invoke blessings at the Kiri Vehera in Kataragama today (June 14). Members from 23 Districts of The National Organization to Protect the United National Party were present at the religious ceremony where they wished that Sajith Premadasa will get the leadership of the UNP. Also attending this event was the former General Secretary of the UNP Tissa Attanayake. Speaking at the occasion he said that there is a huge desire at the grassroots level of the party for a change in the leadership and that this fact could be no longer hidden. He further said that however, it is the party who should decide on selecting the suitable person for the post. Attanayake added that there is clear support from the grass root level for Sajith Premadasa which makes it the party's duty to rope him in as leader of the party.
