Colombo (News 1st): The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today (June 12) carried out a protest opposite the Fort Railway Station expressing their opposition to the incumbent government. The protest began at the Technical junction in Maradana and proceeded to Fort for a meeting which continued for about an hour. Speaking at the meeting JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said within the last 4 years this government had displayed that they are incapable in every aspect, therefore, this government has no right to be responsible for the people and this country anymore. He questioned as to what part of the responsibility that Ranil had that was successfully met. He demands that they leave. He noted that getting rid of Maithripala and Ranil does not mean they are inviting Mahinda Rajapaksa back. Dissanayake said Mahinda's 10-year rule played a big part in destroying Sri Lanka's economy and sovereignty and this battle has to end.
