Colombo (News 1st): Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe held a meeting with Civil Activists and Trade Union representatives today (June 11) at Temple Trees. Speaking at the meeting Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said, just because a cabinet meeting was not held, the cabinet would not be abolished. PM Wickremesinghe stressed that he was appointed Prime Minister as he is the leader with a majority and the cabinet was appointed with parliamentary approval. Noting the people are frustrated with the conduct of politicians, the Prime Minister pointed out, now is not the time to send home the 225 MPs though many say it needs to be done. The prime minister further said that steps would be taken to remove the frustration over politicians among the general public.
