Colombo (News1st) – The Met Department in a severe weather advisory says the South-west monsoon conditions are gradually establishing over the island. It adds showery and windy conditions are expected to enhance further tomorrow, particularly in the South-western part of the island.
Showers or thundershowers with over 150 to 200 mm of rainfall can be experienced in Kalutara, Ratnapura, Galle, Matara and Kegalle Districts.
Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Hambantota and Mannar will experience rainfall between 100 to 150 mm. The Met Department adds, 75 mm of rainfall will be experienced over the Uva Province and the Kurunegala and Mannar Districts as well.
Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 to 50 kmph are also likely over the country, particularly in the central hills and over southern coastal areas.
