Colombo (News 1st): The leader of All Ceylon Makkal Congress, Rishard Bathiudeen expressed these views about the request made by the Maha Sangha of three sects in Kandy, to accept the positions made vacant once again.
The former minister expressing his views opposite the police headquarters noted that he respects the request made by the Mahanayake Theros. He noted that they are planning several things and the first is to meet the chief prelates of the Asigiriya and Malwatte chapters.
He added that they will then meet with Opposition leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and the leaders of the Tamil National Alliance, all party leaders, UN representatives in Sri Lanka and members of various NGOs.
Bathiudeen said they resigned from their ministerial positions and will also make any other sacrifice to ensure reconciliation in the country.
Rishard Bathiudeen arrived at the police headquarters to lodge a complaint against the statements made by parliamentarians Wimal Weerawansa and S. B. Dissanayake. Meanwhile, S. B. Dissanayake too lodged a complaint against Rishard Bathiudeen at the Police Headquarters today.
