SLFP calls on President to contest next Presidential Election

Colombo (News 1st): The Parliamentary Group of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has handed over a letter to President Maithripala Sirisena, requesting him to contest the upcoming Presidential election. The letter requests the President to take leadership in forming a broad and progressive alliance against the United National Party. The letter was handed over to the President at his Secretariat this afternoon by a group including SLFP Senior Vice-Chairman Nimal Siripala De Silva, General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Sarath Amunugama, Duminda Dissanayake, Faiszer Mustapha, and Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
