COLOMBO (News 1st) – Four senior police officers have been summoned before the Special Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to probe the April 21st attacks.
DIG Ravi Seneviratne, Director CID Shani Abeysekara, Director of TID Waruna Jayasundara, and former Director of TID Nalaka De Silva are to face the committee today(June 04).
Meanwhile, a member of the Special Parliamentary Select Committee informed News 1st that, today’s sessions will be broadcast live to the general public.
The committee appointed to look into the 21st April attacks is headed by Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri.
Ministers Sarath Fonseka Ravi Karunanayaka Dr. Rajitha Senarathne as well as MPs Rauf Hakeem, Professor Ashu Marasinghe, Dr Jayampathy Wickramaratne, M.A Sumanthiran and Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa are scheduled to conduct the session today(June 04).
Defense Secretary, Shantha Kottegoda and the Chief of State Intelligence, Sisira Mendis were summoned before the committee to testify on the 29th of May.
Meanwhile, parliament is to convene today at 1 pm.
