Reuters - A zoo in southern Thailand has welcomed four newly-born meerkats into its family, drawing attention from tourists eager to see the small mammals up close. Officials from the Songkhla zoo said the three-week-old cubs were born to second-time meerkat parents, expanding their family members to 11. Meerkats are native to South Africa, Botswana and Angola. Most live in underground burrows in groups of about 30. They mark their territories with the help of scent glands, which are located under their tails.
