China lifts travel advisory on Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st): China has relaxed the travel advisory imposed on Sri Lanka. Following the 04/21 terror attack, the United States and several other countries issued travel advisories on Sri Lanka. After a request made by the Sri Lankan government, the Chinese Government has relaxed the travel advisory imposed on its citizens from travelling to Sri Lanka. Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs, John Amaratunga claimed that China is the first country to support by uplifting the industry. He added that they believe other countries will do the same. Last year alone, over 260,000 Chinese tourists visited Sri Lanka. China has the second largest amount of tourists arriving in Sri Lanka contributing 12.7% of the tourist traffic.
