PCOI to probe on former director at Jayawardenapura hospital

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Secretary of the Health Ministry, Wasantha Perera has provided a statement to the Presidential Commission inquiring into the irregularities in state institutions within the past four years. The statement that was reportedly recorded for over two hours was regarding an alleged financial fraud committed by the former director of the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital. An officer at the PCOI stated that she was also informed to be a witness to the commission on May 30th. The investigation commenced over a complaint made by the Voice Against Corruption. Further investigation is also due to be carried out today (May 24) on the complaint lodged regarding the Suraksha insurance.
