Houses in Polonnaruwa district damaged due to strong winds

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Eight houses in the Polonnaruwa district were reported partially damaged in the strong winds experienced over the Medirigiriya and Thamankaduwa divisional secretariats. The Divisional Secretary of the Thamankaduwa secretariat, H. S. K. J. Bandara stated that the Bandhawewa, Samudragama and Athumalpitiya divisions were most affected by the wind which damaged seven houses. One house was damaged due to the winds in the Medirigiriya divisional secretariat and the electricity in the area was also reportedly disrupted due to fallen trees.
