30 arrests in Nittambuwa and Pannala

Colombo (News 1st): 30 people were arrested today after several raids were carried out in Nittambuwa and Pannala areas.


A joint search operation was carried out today in Pannala by the Sri Lanka Army and Police.

4 suspects were arrested along with 25 bags each with 25 kg which is believed to be ammonia, an army uniform and several similar uniforms with many mobile phones.

Our reporter informed us that several umbrellas that are used by Buddhist monks were found along with 3 swords and 13 passports in possession of a person.


Meanwhile, during a search operation carried out in the Nittambuwa, 26 suspects were arrested by the Police.

News 1st correspondent in the area said that United National Party Provincial Councillor Mohammed Shabeen Mohammed Ashrof was among the suspects who were arrested.

The search operations were carried out by the commando regiment of the Sri Lanka Army and the Police
