Heavy rainfall of 100 mm in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva and Kalutara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Meteorology states that heavy rainfall of about 100 mm can be expected in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces and in the Kaluthara district today(May 22).
The department also stated:-
  • Showery conditions are expected to enhance to some extent over most parts of the island, particularly in south-western part over the next few days.
  • Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.
  • Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Central, Uva, North-Central, North-Western and Eastern provinces and in Vavuniya and Mullaitivu districts after 2.00 p.m.
  • There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
