No-confidence motion against government to be presented today

COLOMBO (News 1st) - It was reported that steps have been taken to call for security reports into the Parliament's staff members. Parliament administration stated that security measures will be imposed by the state intelligence officials in this regard. The administration added that special arrangements have been enforced to ensure the safety of the parliament complex. Meanwhile, the parliament is due to convene at 1 pm this afternoon. The bill to abolish the "REVIVAL OF UNDERPERFORMING ENTERPRISES OR UNDERUTILISED ASSETS ACT" is to be taken up today (May 21). More importantly, a no-confidence motion against the government is also set to be presented in the parliament. News 1st correspondent noted that a party leaders meeting is to take place today in which both, the JVP initiated NCM against the government and the NCM against Rishard Bathiudeen are to be discussed and dates to be decided for debates.
