Azath Salley speaks on the recent Kuliyapitiya unrest

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Governor of the Western Province Azath Salley toured the Kottaramulla area in Koswatte, Wennappuwa where the situations of unrest were reported recently. After inspecting the properties damaged the Governor speaking to the media claimed that regardless of any nationality that everyone had committed mistakes and that they must be punished. He continued to say that the people do not understand that it is the taxpayers' money that is once again used to pay compensation and for renovation purposes. Salley said that these funds could have been utilized for causes more beneficial to the country but that due to the tense situations that keep rising every three to four months that millions of rupees are wasted. He added that due to these situations that the country has resorted to begging from everywhere possible and that they even beg for maintaining itself.
