Brawl leads to deadly shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st): One individual was reported dead while two others sustained injuries in a shooting reported from Beralihela, Lunugamwehera. The Police said that the shooting was a result of a dispute that escalated between a group of people at a party fueled by alcohol held last night (May 16). Several people involved in the dispute had walked out of the party after they were assaulted and had later come back and carried out the shooting. The deceased aged 27 was identified as a resident of Kudagammana 04, Tissamaharama. The injured, aged 28 and 39 are residents of Lunugamwehera and Pannegamuwa. The injured individuals who were admitted to the Debarawewa Base hospital were later admitted to the Hambantota General hospital for further treatments The police have commenced investigations to arrest two suspects in connection with the incident.
