Opposition sign motion of no-confidence against Bathiudeen

Colombo (News 1st): Opposition MPs signed a motion of no-confidence against Minister Rishard Bathiudeen today (May 14). The motion of no-confidence states that the MPs do not believe that Rishard Bathiudeen can continue to function as a minister of the cabinet. The no-confidence motion has been signed by 23 MPs including Dullas Allahaperuma, Chamal Rajapaksa, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Wimal Weerawansa, Udaya Gammanpila, Dinesh Gunawardena and Athuraliye Rathana Thero. MPs representing the joint opposition said that they are due to meet at the office of the Opposition Leader at Wijerama to make a decision on the motion. The motion of no-confidence was due to be handed over to the speaker today. However, the office of the speaker confirmed that the motion of no confidence was not presented to the speaker today.
