REUTERS: North Korean farmers began planting rice in paddy fields on Sunday (May 12).  Director of a cooperative farm at Kangso District, Choe Kyong Chol, said that they expected to achieve the grain production goal which was set by the state's leader Kim Jong Un at a recent party meeting. Four in 10 North Koreans are chronically short of food and further cuts to already minimal rations are expected after the worst harvest in a decade, the United Nations said earlier this month.
