DIG Nalaka de Silva further remanded till May 21st

Colombo (News 1st): DIG Nalaka de Silva who was arrested over an alleged plot to assassinate high profile individuals in the country was remanded until May 21st by Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake. On May 21st, the Magistrate is expected to deliver the ruling on whether sufficient material is available to file a case against de Silva under the provisions of the PTA or the Prevention of Terrorism Act. Today, Attorney-at-Law Ajith Prasanna requested the court to issue an order to provide Namal Kumara, the Operations Director of an Anti-Corruption Outfit, sufficient security citing threats to his life for revealing details of the alleged plot. Detectives informed the court, as per the order given by the court on April 12th, the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department had written to the DIG in-charge of the Sabaragamuwa Province of the said matter.
