Search operations around Colombo schools

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A special search operation around Colombo schools is currently underway. The police media spokesperson requested the public not to park their vehicles in close proximity to school premises after 1 pm today (May 05) in the Colombo district. In a statement, the police stated that special parking locations will be allocated for school buses and vans in Colombo. Meanwhile, the Department of Government Information stated that schools will re-open tomorrow (May 06), only for the middle school and above. The second term for the primary school students island-wide will commence next week (May 13). The statement by the Department of Government Information also noted that a program will be implemented to ensure the safety of students.
