Colombo (News 1st): Three men attached to the Ministry of Public Enterprise, Kandyan Heritage and Kandy Development, arrested at the Central Mail Exchange for the possession of 639 defamatory letters against the President were handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division.

Police opened the letters after they grew suspicious over the three men who visited the Central Mail Exchange to post these letters.

Investigations revealed the men had attempted to spread false information on the Easter Sunday terror attacks and those responsible for the attacks. He added that the Ministry premises were searched by the CCD this morning and a computer and photocopy machine used to print the letters were seized.

News 1st attempted to contact Minister Lakshman Kiriella on several occasions for a comment on the matter, however, those attempts proved futile.
