STF raids Zahran Hashmi's residence

Colombo (News1st) - The Police Terrorist Investigation Unit has arrested the Imam who had encouraged and supported  Zahran Hashmi, the chief suspect behind the Easter Sunday attacks.  A raid was also conducted on the house in which the chief suspect Zaharan is believed to have resided. The house in Kathankudy, Batticaloa was raided by the STF and the owner of the house was also arrested during the raid. According to the Police,  Zahran's wife and daughter had sustained injuries in a blast which occurred at a house in the Ninthavur area on Friday. Meanwhile, the TID has also taken into custody 11 suspects in connection to the bombing at a lodge in the Dehiwala area. The police noted that the wife of the bomber is also among the suspects arrested.
