Colombo (News1st) – According to the Police, 3 suspects connected to the murder of 2 police officers at the Vaunativu police checkpoint have been identified. Interrogation of Zahran Hashmi’s (believed to be one of the Easter bombers) driver Ghafoor had revealed the identity of the 3 suspects.

Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara noted that one of the firearms, a revolver,  that was stolen from the 2 deceased police officers was recovered in the Nintavur area.

The second revolver was discovered buried behind a suspected terrorist safe house in the Wanathawilluva area. The spokesperson added that a T56 firearm, 6 micro pistols and a cache of ammunition was also discovered during the raid.
