Colombo (News 1st): The National Thawheed Jamath (NTJ) and Jamathei Milathu Ibrahim (JMI) organizations have been banned by President Maithripala Sirisena.

The government will take steps to ensure that all assets and activities of the organization come to an immediate halt.

According to the President’s media unit, steps are also being taken to ban several other extremist organizations inline with emergency regulations.
