Colombo (News 1st): Propaganda secretary of the JVP MP Vijitha Herath expressed these views after attending the all-party conference chaired by the president. He noted that the facts on the incident were presented by the president and the president noted that foreign intelligence services had informed local intelligence services on April 4th of the possible attacks. MP Herath said a warning on the attacks was issued by the national intelligence service on April 9th and the president had stated that he was not informed of this even by April 16th, the day he travelled overseas. The parliamentarian added that the president said a security officer close to the president during his overseas visit had shown the said letter to him on his (officer's) phone and added that the president was only made aware of it when the incident occurred.
