French President and Japanese PM extend condolences

COLOMBO (News 1st) - French President Emmanuel Macron and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe extended their condolences and cooperation towards Sri Lanka following the devastating attack on Easter Sunday (April 21). Emmanuel Macron, French President: "Each person has the right to practise their faith without fear and these awful crimes must be punished. International cooperation against terrorism requires everyone to act and it will be at the centre of our priorities, and we'll come back to that." Shinzo Abe, Japanese Prime Minister: "We feel strong indignation and strongly condemn such terrorism. I pray for all the victims. We will closely coordinate with the international community including France and Sri Lanka to fight against terrorism."
