BIA resumes operations as usual

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Earlier today(April 25), the road opposite to the Bandaranaike International Airport was temporarily closed. According to the News 1st correspondent on site, authorities had taken measures to inspect a suspicious car which was parked at the BIA car park. Police added that they were able to ascertain suspicious items following the operations. Consequently, following the assurance that there was no other harmful equipment in the vicinity, the road opposite the Bandaranaike International Airport was open to the public. Dhammika Ranatunga, Chairman - Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited made a statement and noted that following inspections, operations at the BIA were resumed as usual. He added that flight delays could occur due to the inspections and requested the public to comply with BIA authorities.
