Colombo (News 1st): Speaking in parliament today (April 24) Dullas Alahapperuma noted that the President, Prime Minister, subject ministers, and heads of security are pointing fingers at each other. He noted that in June 2015, a BBC journalist named Andrew Hosken penned a book named 'Empire of Fear' and a separate chapter of this book states that Sri Lanka is a breeding ground. The parliamentarian noted that he raised a question in this regard in parliament on September 6th 2016 and compiled a Hansard report. He said that the then subject minister Sagala Ratnayake responded to his question stating the question cannot be answered in parliament. He said MP Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe raised concerns over this matter in parliament and revealed all information in this regard and as far as he knows, the security council had discussed this matter 47 times since then. When UPFA MP Dullas Alahapperuma raised this question in parliament in 2016, this was the response given by the then Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development, Sagala Ratnayaka.
"Sir, actually I do not want to table the answer either. Since this question has a bearing on national security and public safety. I would seek your approval to refrain from replying. But, if the member or any other member in this house wishes to have more information pertaining to what is in the question, I am happy to speak to them outside the house."
