Army deploys 6600 personnel to ensure security

COLOMBO (News 1st) -Army spokesperson, Brigadier Sumith Atapattu notes that 6600 security forces personnel have been deployed to ensure safety across the country. He added that 1000 security forces personnel have been deployed in the Western province alone. He went on to note that multiple operations in Beruwala, Dharga town, Katana, Katuwapitiya and Warakapola by the Special Task Force have led to the arrest of 18 suspects. Meanwhile, Army Commander Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake stated that a comprehensive operation will be launched from today(April 24) to apprehend the suspects behind Easter terror attacks.
