Colombo (News 1st): A person was severely injured due to an accident that occurred at the 45th mile-post area along the Mahiyangana – Ampara main road.

The accident occurred when a three-wheeler which was travelling from Mahiyangana to Ampara and a car travelling in the opposite direction collided.

The car collided with the three-wheeler and then hit a tree and an electric post nearby. The three-wheeler driver has been admitted to the hospital.

Police stated that the accident occurred due to the reckless driving of the motor car driver The police further stated that the 4 individuals who were travelling in the vehicle had fled.
