8% spike in New Year accidents

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A total of 410 people have been hospitalized over the past two days and are receiving treatment at accident ward of the National Hospital. A spokesperson stated that 203 are still receiving residential treatment. Thirteen patients were admitted for motor accidents, forty-nine for various domestic accidents, and thirty-six were admitted after sustaining injuries over various disputes. Six persons were admitted due to fireworks accidents. The National Hospital stated that there was an 8 % spike in patient admittance compared to last year (2018).
