CAUGHT ON CCTV: Woman shops with stolen money at Gampola textile shop

Colombo (News 1st) - News 1st has received footage of a theft that took place at a textile store in Gampola. The family which resides in Hodiyadeniya, Gampola had visited the textile shop for New Year shopping. While selecting clothes, they had placed the money purse on a nearby rack.CCTV captured how the purse was being stolen. The owner of the purse stated that the purse had Rs.124,000 in cash. The woman who stole the purse had paid her shopping expenses through the stolen money and had left the textile store. Gampola police are conducting further investigation into the incident.
