COLOMBO (News 1st) – A number of trade unions attached to the railway sector are to launch a 48-hour strike action from midnight (April 09).
The Chairman of the Railway Controllers’ Association, Lal Ariyaratne noted that they demand to enforce the cabinet paper approved to solve the grading anomalies through their trade union action.
He added that several employees including station masters, guards, controllers and drivers affiliated to trade unions are to engage in the strike.
