Dubai Bust: Extradited suspect, a wanted criminal

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An individual identified as Mohamed Mufar Mohamed Jabeer, who was detained by the Criminal Investigations Department upon arrival to Sri Lanka was released following an interrogation which lasted over 24 hours. Mohamed Jabeer was arrested in Dubai along with notorious underworld leader "Makandure Madush"  and consequently deported to Sri Lanka yesterday(April 08). A senior ranked officer at the CID stated that the interrogation led to believe that the man had no criminal record. However, 37-year-old Mohamed Nazeem Mohamed Faizer who was extradited along with him is currently held by the Colombo Crime Division and is being interrogated. A Senior CCD Officer said Mohamed Nazeem will be produced in court tomorrow (April 10) as he is a wanted criminal for homicides and a number of other crimes. The reports reveal that fifteen suspects arrested with "Makandure Madush" in Dubai have been deported to Sri Lanka.
