Bandula Gunawardena asks FCID to expedite inquiries against him

COLOMBO (News 1st) - MP Bandula Gunawardena visited the Financial Crimes Investigations Division this morning (April 09) to request for investigations on a complaint filed against him to be expedited. A complaint filed with the FCID in 2015 claims that the former minister solicited millions in bribes and commissions from the Mahindodaya Technology Laboratories project. UPFA MP, Bandula Gunawardana addressed the media present at the scene. He noted that the Mahindodaya Technology Laboratories project was implemented in total transparency avoiding any form of corruption. He noted that the government and the JVP have begun to make accusations regarding the project that served hundreds of schools in Sri Lanka. He revealed that almost all the staff members during his tenure in the ministry were interrogated to find any form of evidence. He added that his purpose of the visit was to meet FCID Director and request to figure out who the culprits are and to punish them immediately.
