Interviews for executioner today and tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The interviews for the position of the executioner, which is a prerequisite in the process of imposing the death penalty, will be held today and tomorrow (April 02 & 03). An official attached to the Ministry of Justice and Prison Reforms noted that 79 applicants have been shortlisted from a total number of 102 applicants. It was noted that two applicants will be chosen following the interview. During the liquefying of the cocaine haul yesterday (April 01), President Maithripala Sirisena noted that he has already decided on a time period to carry out the death sentence. The list of names of those on death row has already been handed over to the President.
